Right now my dad and I are working on a 3rd re-write. Which in essence is the 4th version of the script. There is the original, then the first two re-writes and now we are on the 3rd. It has been a challenge. Writing to a budget is a lot tougher than I imagined. When I have written in the past it was with unbridled imagination, now when I am writing I have to ask myself "Can we afford that shot?" It has challenged me to be creative that's for certain. My dad has been so patient trying to guide me through the re-write process. I went back and read the original screenplay and I can't believe how much tighter the story gets with each subsequent re-write. I know once we have script-lock it is going to be really sharp and tight.
I get asked a lot what part of the process am I looking forward to the most and it is without question casting. That is going to be vital. Your movie can look and sound pristine but if your cast is awful your movie is awful. I already know CARVER is going to look and sound amazing because of the people already in place. It is now up to us to pick the cast that will be able to deliver the performances necessary to make CARVER successful. We will be announcing open casting call dates soon. We will also be reaching out to casting agents in Philadelphia to help us cast the film.
Once again, thank you for your continued support. We still need to raise additional funds and we have some cool fundraising ideas that we hope to launch very soon. In the meantime you can support us by going to the CARVER home page and purchase a CARVER movie poster postcard signed by me. There is also a donation button if you want to donate a couple of bucks. No donation is too small. Thanks for reading!
