Since my last blog we have hired a new make-up/special effects make-up artist. Her name is Lexann Rosser and she is amazing. We are very fortunate to have her on our team. You can check out her work on her website: www.lexanrosser.com We can't wait to work with her.
We have begun the casting process. We have seen some amazing talent since my last blog and we have a lot of tough decisions ahead. We are still in the midst of call backs but we hope to announce some of our cast members in the next couple of weeks after contracts are signed. I have said it before but I can't stress how important it is to find the right cast. It can truly make or break your film.
One of our producers, Jackie Martine, has been working very hard getting our locations locked in. She has done a fantastic job finding and securing some of the more difficult locations. We are on pace to have all of our locations locked in by mid to late March which is 3 months ahead of our start date.
Two of my closest friends who are also producers have really come through for us as well. Buddy and Christina Blankenship have both worked extremely hard on Carver since before the Kickstarter campaign. They have secured two locations for us as well as provided us with a variety of equipment needed for our craft table. Christina has directed and managed large scale theater productions for a lot of years and knows what it takes to get things done. We are so lucky to have the two of them working on Carver.
It is very humbling to have so many talented people want to work with me on CARVER. I will make sure that work my butt off so their belief in me is rewarded.
One last thing...113 days until filming begins.
